This year too, the Gallura city presents itself as the capital of New Year’s Eve in Sardinia with the great concert by the Venetian bluesman, fresh from a tour in the USA.
Salmo will also be busy on New Year’s Eve. The famous rapper returns to his Olbia for an exclusive DJ set that will follow the inevitable fireworks display, a tradition that is extremely heartfelt in Olbia, a bit like for San Simplicio.
Olbia has had a consolidated tradition of important New Year’s Eve events for over a decade now.
Starting from Laura Pausini’s historic concert on 31 December 2009 followed by over 50 thousand people, the city has seen a succession of stars such as Maneskin, Elisa, Skunk Anansie, Subsonica and Negramaro.
The imposing scenography of Molo Brin is the natural stage for New Year’s concerts in Olbia.
Right in the center, over one hundred meters wide and as long, with a large area behind dominated by the beautiful Ferris wheel, it guarantees a perfect view of the large stage that is set up for the occasion.
The city is used to managing large events, having long hosted important events such as the World Rally and Inshore Motorboat Championship, or the Red Valley Festival which attracts 100 thousand visitors every year.
How New Year’s Eve 2024 takes place
The main musical event will start around 10.30pm with Zucchero’s concert and will end just before the usual countdown.
Followed by the fireworks, which will illuminate the sky for a long time.
Then DJ set by Salmo (who apparently could also participate in Zucchero’s performance as a guest star) until late at night.
