But there is one more reason if you have children.
In fact in Tortolì the beaches of Cea and Orrì have received the prestigious Green Flag again this year
What is the Green Flag, who awards it?
The Green Flag has been awarded, since 2008, by SIPPS (Italian Society of Preventive and Social Pediatrics). It wishes to highlight and therefore reward the localities that take concrete steps to make their beaches “child-friendly”
This means that these lidos have been recognized as having a high level of safety, protection and hygiene which safeguard the safety of children.
How does the selection process of the beaches that will obtain the Green Flag take place?
The choice of beaches that obtain the Green Flag takes place through a survey conducted among a sample of pediatricians. In 2023, 146 beaches in Italy were selected (22 in Sardinia, including the Lidi di Orrì and Cea in Tortolì) which have particular requirements which are checked in advance by the SIPPS.
What are the requirements of beaches that receive the Green Flag?
Obviously a child-friendly beach has characteristics that make it perfect for families:
The space between the umbrellas, which must be large to allow children to play in peace and freedom.
Lifeguards trained in first aid who watch over both the beach and the sea
Shallow waters and clean waters, but this in Sardinia we can say is the standard.
Abundant, fine and golden sand, ideal for children’s games such as sand castles.
Service structures such as adjacent bars or ice cream parlors or on the beach
How to get to the beaches of Orrì and Cea?
