Discover the five most beautiful beaches of Arzachena

Discover the five most beautiful beaches of Arzachena, one of the most exclusive destinations in the Mediterranean

Costa Smeralda is the exclusive relaxation of its prestigious residences, the famous square with luxury brands, the harbor where the most beautiful yachts in the world stop.
But it is first and foremost the sea, from which it takes its name and which has made it one of the best-known destinations for luxury tourism in the Mediterranean.
Mind you, not that Sardinia lacks fantastic beaches, quite the contrary. The island with the largest coastal area in the Mediterranean has a few hundred kilometers of mostly sandy coastline and archipelagos of exceptional landscape value such as that of La Maddalena, therefore the beaches of the Costa Smeralda cannot be considered an exception in this sense.
However this area, which combines luxury and worldliness with a wonderful nature, owes its fortune precisely to the enhancement of its natural beauties.

So let’s find out which are the five most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda, and how to reach them

Spiaggia del principe

Spiaggia del principe it is one of the most beautiful and famous of the Costa Smeralda, and seems to be the favorite of its founder, Prince Karim Aga Khan, from whom it takes its name. Used in ancient times for the mooring of small boats that traded leather with the inhabitants of the interior (hence the name Poltu di li cogghj), it owes its fame to the extraordinary transparency of the seabed and the quality of the sand.

Piccolo Romazzino

Piccolo Romazzino beach is a perfect gem located less than a kilometer from Principe beach. An inlet of just over 100 meters completely surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, with a shallow, incredibly transparent seabed and sheltered from the prevailing winds.
Piccolo Romazzino is not known as the main beach, and is not easily accessible. No less this small beach in our opinion absolutely deserves to be counted among the five most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda.

How to reach the Piccolo Romazzino

Be careful: the directions on Google maps are not correct, use these. The beach is about 700 meters from the car park, and is free.

Capriccioli

Probably the best known of the Costa Smeralda beaches, Capriccioli is actually a peninsula that faces the islands of Soffi and Mortorio.
In fact Capriccioli are actually 4 beaches:
– Capriccioli Ovest, which overlooks La Celvia;
– Capriccioli Sud, located in front of Liscia Ruja;
– Capriccioli Est, the best known and largest of the four
– Capriccioli Nord, found by passing the cliff that borders the east beach on the left.
In Capriccioli the chromatic aspect becomes predominant. In fact, the Mediterranean maquis of a strong green even in summer contrasts beautifully with the pale pink of the granite cliffs and with the soft blue of a shallow and transparent seabed. It is undoubtedly one of the five most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda, which is worth a visit.

How to reach Capriccioli

From Abbiadori take the SP 160, go past Cala di Volpe and follow the directions. You will find the parking that takes you to the beaches.

Piccolo Pevero

Very popular with the international jet set, Piccolo Pevero beach is located in the center of the homonymous gulf, in a sheltered position surrounded by granite cliffs. The beach is very clear as is the seabed, which remains shallow for several meters.

How to reach the beach of Piccolo Pevero

From Abbiadori continue along the SP59 in the direction of Porto Cervo, after about 2 kilometers turn right at the crossroads where there is the corresponding indication.
Our Felix Hotel Airone is less than 15 minutes from this beach, while our Felix Hotel Parco degli Ulivi can be reached in just over 20 minutes

Liscia Ruja

The largest beach on the Costa Smeralda, extending over half a kilometer, is probably also the most scenic. In fact it is located in a part of the Costa Smeralda area (which belongs to the municipality of Arzachena) where there is no type of building. You therefore cross a few kilometers of untouched Mediterranean scrub, which brings you back to a deeper contact with nature. Arrived at the beach, this has very light shades and a very fine grain of sand tending towards pink. The transparent bottom is shallow for long stretches.

How to reach Liscia Ruja

If you are coming from Porto Cervo, get to Abbiadori and then take the provincial road 160, if you are coming from Olbia, get to Portisco, then take the SP 94.

As we have seen, in the few kilometers of the Costa Smeralda there are numerous beaches of great beauty. For the stay instead we take the liberty of recommending our hotels in the area:
– the Felix Hotel Airone in Baja Sardinia , surrounded by a large park, overlooks the Gulf of Cannigione, and as we have seen, a stone’s throw from the magnificent beaches of the Costa Smeralda
-The Felix Hotel Parco degli Ulivi, surrounded by nature, among olive trees, granite and the Gallura wind but always less than half an hour’s drive from the five most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda.

We are waiting for you!
